Laura McGoldrick: Prioritising Fitness for Happiness and Wellbeing

Laura McGoldrick, well-known broadcaster, actor, and co-host of The Hits drive show, is sharing her secrets to staying fit, healthy, and happy. With a busy schedule that includes being a wife to Black Caps cricketer Martin Guptill and a mother to two young children, Laura emphasizes the importance of prioritizing fitness for her overall well-being.

Starting her day with two alarms set and her workout clothes ready the night before, Laura kicks off her morning with a virtual group workout class called ShadowCamp in her garage. This “me” time before her children wake up sets the tone for her day. After the workout, she enjoys a cup of coffee and some quality time with her kids before heading off to drop them at kindy.

For Laura, feeling presentable is all about how she feels on the inside. She believes in taking care of herself by moisturizing her body daily and moving her body physically every day. Whether it’s a ShadowCamp class during the week or a long walk with her kids on the weekends, staying active is a priority for her.

In addition to physical health, Laura also values mental and emotional well-being. She makes it a point to disconnect from her cellphone and take time for herself. When faced with challenges, she reminds herself that she can handle anything and leans on her support system of family and friends for help.

Ultimately, Laura finds happiness in her family, friends, and simple pleasures like a good glass of wine or a Cheesymite scroll from Baker’s Delight on Sundays. She also shares a life hack for staying motivated during winter by warming up gym clothes on a heated towel rail.

Laura’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of prioritizing self-care and fitness for overall happiness and well-being.
