“Pets in Paradise: Discovering South Florida’s Pet-Friendly Attractions”
“South Florida: A Pets’ Paradise” – Travel Channel Show Explores Pet-Friendly Destinations in Palm Beach County
South Floridians already know that their furry friends are welcome almost everywhere they go, from the supermarket to the beach. But did you know that we live in a “Pets’ Paradise”? That’s the focus of a new show called “Pets in Paradise” airing on the Travel Channel on April 23 and 25.
The half-hour show, sponsored by the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council, explores the numerous pet-friendly attractions in Palm Beach County. From dog parks to beaches, hotels to restaurants, viewers will get an inside look at all the places where pets are not only welcome but celebrated.
Tourists interviewed for the show expressed their delight at discovering just how pet-friendly South Florida truly is. Many visitors from colder climates were thrilled to find that their dogs could enjoy the sunshine and freedom of local dog parks and beaches.
The hosts of “Pets in Paradise” visit a variety of locations in Palm Beach County, including Juno Beach’s dog-friendly beach, the Palm Beach Lake Trail, West Palm Beach’s farmers market, and more. Local veterinarian Jesus Aramendi offers valuable tips on traveling with pets, whether by car or plane.
Paul Waide, vice president of Apex Productions, the company behind the episode, was pleasantly surprised by the number of pet-friendly places they encountered. If the show proves to be popular, Apex hopes to produce similar episodes in other pet-friendly destinations across the country.
