Travelers Planning Three or More Trips in 2024, Survey Shows

According to the Global Rescue Winter Traveler Sentiment and Safety Survey, travelers are gearing up for a busy year of exploration in 2024. The survey revealed that a staggering 93 percent of respondents are planning international trips, with 41 percent planning three or more trips abroad.

The top international destinations on travelers’ radars include Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Africa. However, a significant number of respondents (66 percent) are looking to venture to new destinations this year, with Spain, Japan, Argentina, and Italy among the top picks.

In addition to exploring new destinations, travelers are also opting for longer and more adventurous trips. A quarter of respondents expressed their intention to extend the duration of at least one international trip, while one in five are planning more immersive journeys in 2024.

Despite the increasing appetite for travel, safety concerns remain at the forefront of travelers’ minds. Civil unrest and terrorism have emerged as the top fears for global travelers, surpassing accidents and injuries. In response to these concerns, travelers are enhancing their trip protection with security advisory and extraction services.

The travel industry is also stepping up its efforts to ensure traveler safety. From advanced security screening programs to keyless room entry in hotels, measures are being implemented to provide peace of mind to travelers. Additionally, integrated medical and security apps, such as Global Rescue’s GRID 2.0, are being utilized to keep travelers informed about potential risks and emergencies.

As the travel rebound continues, the demand for enhanced traveler protections is expected to rise. With travelers seeking real-time information and support, the industry is evolving to meet these needs and ensure a safe and enjoyable travel experience in 2024.
