28 dogs in Prince George’s Co. must be adopted or euthanized

Urgent Plea to Save 28 Dogs from Euthanasia at Prince George’s County Animal Shelter

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — The Prince George’s County Animal Shelter is facing a heartbreaking deadline for 28 dogs that are in desperate need of adoption. The shelter took to Facebook Wednesday morning to make a plea to save these dogs, stating that if they are not adopted by Thursday at noon, they will be euthanized.

The 28 dogs have been labeled urgent for space and must be adopted or committed to a rescue by Thursday at noon. They also have to be taken from the shelter by 6 p.m. to avoid being euthanized.

The dogs are currently up for adoption at the Prince George’s County Animal Shelter located at 3750 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro. The adoption fees have been waived for all 28 dogs, and they come with age-appropriate shots, testing, and altering surgery.

However, those interested in rescuing a “terrier mix” must provide two forms of proof of residency outside of Prince George’s County due to breed-specific legislation.

To see bios of the dogs and potentially save a life, visit the shelter’s website. The dogs in need of adoption include various breeds and ages, such as Terrier Mixes, Great Dane Mixes, Cane Corsos, and more.
